Canadian Hills is a 298 MW wind power facility under construction in El Reno, Oklahoma. Atlantic Power acquired a 99% interest in the project un early 2012. Construction is expected to be complete at year-end 2012.
Canadian Hills has power purchase agreements with three counterparties under which all electricity produced by the wind farm is sold at fixed prices, including: 20-year power purchase agreements with Southwestern Electric Power Company and Grand River Dam Authority, and a 25-year power purchase agreement with Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority.
Canadian Hills uses wind turbines manufactured by REpower Systems SE (REpower) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Mitsubishi). The turbines are supported by long-term service agreements: REpower will provide services under a 12-year operations and maintenance agreement and Mitsubishi will provide a 5-year operations and maintenance agreement.
