The Gregory Project is a 400 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle cogeneration facility located near Corpus Christi, Texas that commenced commercial operation in July 2000. The Project is owned by Gregory Power Partners, LP, in which Atlantic Power indirectly owns a 17.1% economic interest. The other indirect owners of the Project are JP Morgan and John Hancock Life Insurance Company.
Gregory sells approximately 345 MW to Fortis Energy under a five year power purchase agreement that expires in 2013. Gregory also sells up to 33 MW of electric energy to Sherwin Alumina (formerly Reynolds Metals Company) under a long-term energy sales agreement expiring in 2020. The remaining energy is sold in the spot market.
The Project is located on a site adjacent to Sherwin Alumina's production facility, which also serves as the Project's steam off-taker.
